According to Energy Minister Yeo Bee Yin, the third round of large-scale solar energy (LSS) bidding in Malaysia will increase capacity by 500MW, details will be announced in January.
Yin said the value of these projects could be as high as RM2 billion ($477 million).
Although many developers have enjoyed the stable pace of the Malaysian market and have a clear auction path of 500MW on a regular basis, many developers hope that the capacity level of LSS 3 will be more generous, as the success of the first two rounds has been confirmed, the most recent of which was in 2017. In December, he won the 563MW award.
Major utility company TNB recently connected the first phase of the country's largest photovoltaic project to date。
